After working as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at MSKCC for 9 years I was ready for a change; not because I did not enjoy what I did but I wanted to help people in a different way. Despite the latest science and technology being applied to help patients at MSKCC, I saw enough suffering, and to help people I turned to one of the oldest medical sciences on earth – Ayurveda.

I enrolled in California College of Ayurveda and became a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist and received additional certifications in Panchakarma and massage and body therapies. Thereafter, I did my Masters’s in Ayurveda at the Hindu University of America in Florida. To gain more knowledge and confidence, I went to India where I obtained certifications as a Yoga teacher from Sivananda Ashram and Lakulish Yoga University in Ahmedabad. I also had an opportunity to appear on national television as part of Yoga training organized by Sivananda Ashram. While going through training at Sivananda Ashram, I came to know about an energy healing therapy called ‘Reiki’ and became a third-degree Reiki master. I also received training in Acupressure energy point treatment. 

After returning to the United States, I went through advanced yoga teacher training at Sivananda Yoga Ranch in Woodbourne, NY, and received Vedic knowledge of yoga in intense depth. At the end of the training, I was awarded the title of “Yoga Acharya” aka “Master of Yoga”.
